8 Shopify Apps Worth Installing for an Indian D2C Store in 2026
A working list of Shopify apps grouped by the job each one does: reviews and trust, marketing, support, upsells, inventory, & reporting.
Shopify's app store has thousands of listings, and most stores only need a handful to genuinely move the needle. This list is written for sellers running Shopify alongside marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra or Ajio, grouped by the job each app does rather than by popularity.
Who this list is for
You already have a Shopify store running and are deciding what to add next, not choosing a platform for the first time. You want plain explanations of what an app actually does before installing it, and you would rather add two or three apps that earn their keep than ten that slow your store down.
Reviews and social proof
For apparel and footwear especially, visible reviews with real photos move conversion more than almost any other single app.
Judge.me
Collects reviews automatically after delivery, lets buyers attach photos, and displays them on the product page with a star widget. Has a genuinely usable free plan, useful for testing whether reviews move your conversion rate before committing spend.
Loox
Leans harder into photo and video reviews than Judge.me and adds a referral and loyalty layer on top. Worth the paid-only pricing once you have order volume and want reviews to double as content for ads and social.
Marketing and retention
Klaviyo
The standard choice for abandoned cart flows, welcome series, and post-purchase sequences on Shopify. The learning curve is real, but the segmentation and flow-building are worth it once your list is large enough to make automation pay for itself.
Customer support
Gorgias
A helpdesk built specifically for ecommerce. Pulls order and shipping data straight into the support ticket, so a "where is my order" question can be answered without switching tabs. Chat, email and Instagram or WhatsApp messages land in one inbox, which matters once support volume outgrows a shared inbox.
Upsells, inventory and reporting
ReConvert
Turns the thank-you page into a second sales opportunity with one-click upsells, cross-sells, and an editable order-confirmation flow, without touching checkout code.
Stock Sync
Keeps stock counts aligned between Shopify and supplier sheets or marketplace listings on a schedule, cutting down on overselling a style that already sold out on Myntra or Amazon.
Better Reports
Goes past Shopify's built-in analytics with custom report builders and scheduled exports, useful once you need profit-by-SKU or channel-level numbers the default dashboard does not break out.
At a glance
| App | Category | Best for | Free plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Judge.me | Reviews | First-time review setup | Yes |
| Loox | Reviews | Photo/video-led social proof | No |
| Klaviyo | Marketing | Email and SMS automation | Limited |
| Gorgias | Support | High-volume support | No |
| ReConvert | Upsells | Raising average order value | Limited |
| Stock Sync | Inventory | Multi-channel stock sync | Limited |
| Better Reports | Analytics | Custom reporting | Trial only |
Do you need all of these at once
No. Start with one review app and one support tool if you are early. Add marketing automation and reporting once you have enough order volume for the data to mean something. Every app adds some page weight, so audit installed apps every few months and remove ones you are not actively using.
